Had the most wonderful time driving home from Erev Shabbat worship with A tonight. I asked her if she wanted to say her bedtime prayers. She proceeded to pray all the way home, with such a sincere heart. Praising Abba, thanking him for sending Yeshua, asking his help to do what is right daily, etc. The presence in the car was astounding, I felt the hair on my head stand on end. It is a joy when your children walk in the truth!

Well, today was not the day I expected. Went up to Portland to go to a bouncy house play place, then to a homeschool curriculum store, then lunch with a friend I haven't seen in months. Instead, spent the afternoon in the ER. By some fluke, W got bounced over a wall and went face first 5-6' down to the floor, then flipped backward on her neck.
The doctor told us we dodged a bullet - she had a little bloody nose, scrapes, a sprained wrist and elbow and possible slight concussion. He said an adult would have been in ICU, and that God blessed children with bodies that are loose enough to handle falls because he knew that stuff like this would happen.
It was just really bad timing, some bigger kids (four 5-6 yos) were bouncing (and they weren't being crazy or anything) and she tried to bounce too. They must have managed to double bounce her and she was so light she just went up and over.
She landed right on the very edge of the black mat in the front. Thank God she hit the mat, might have been a very different story.

Update today - she is doing well (mostly annoyed that I keep loving on her so much). She scared people at Classical Conversations because she's out there trying to climb the big play structure with her wrist wrap. This child has no fear, and common sense hasn't developed yet. She has been complaining about her arm hurting, so we will see if we need to have something else done about that if it doesn't get better.
She also keeps saying, "boys should learn to be more careful with little girls." To which I reply, "little girls shouldn't try to hang with the big boys."

Another update:
She woke up from her nap on Wednesday complaining that she was going to fall down and her head wouldn't stop moving inside. Another trip to the dr, and now they can officially say she has a concussion. 2 days of cognitive rest and week with no activities where there is the slightest possibility she could bonk her head.

So Wednesday night I send this email out to everyone in Classical Conversations: Did anyone find a small gold stuffed puppy with a collar and tag today? This is A's very special, most favorite baby and she didn't make it home...
Then the next morning I had to send out this email: Thank you all for your prayers...in the middle of the night A had an epiphany....she realized that Gold had made it home and was stuffed inside a toy cookie jar on a shelf...
Gee, why didn't I think to look there?

A just came upstairs because she can't stop worrying about small things getting flushed down the toliet. I told her that unless she did it on purpose, it's unlikely that that would happen. Crying, she said, "You know, whenever I go to the bathroom I always check my hands to make sure I'm not carrying anything." My poor OCD baby...

A series of posts on the great bead spill of 2012
Well, my girls are going have a fun day (possibly weekend). They spilled an entire large jar of fuse beads all over the kitchen.
So the girls got about 1/3 of the beads picked up, when W knocked the jar over again.
Someday my kids will be talking about their childhood and say, "hey, remember that time Mom made us spend ALLLLL day picking up beads we spilled?"
So yesterday's summation: The girls worked on picking up beads from 10-11:30, took a break for Crossfit and lunch, got back to work around 2 and worked on them until 5:30. No TV, no music, only potty breaks. By the end, they were both crying and apologizing and A noted that it's not fair that I usually have to clean up these sorts of messes by myself so they will more careful and more obedient next time.
